Adele J. Weaver, 74, of Ephrata, passed away after many years of battling medical issues, Friday, March 15, 2013, at Ephrata Community Hospital where she was surrounded by her family.
She was born in Schoeneck to the late Harvey and Elsie (Beamesderfer) Hollenbach and was the wife of Paul R. Weaver, with whom she celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary on Sept. 26.
Adele worked as a customer service representative for Susquehanna Bank. Adele was an avid bowler, she played in local bridge flights, a golfer and a Red Hat Society member. She was someone who enjoyed life and valued laughter, Adele loved to make people laugh. A proud grandmother and great grandmother, she was ready to talk to anyone about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the neighborhood children who call her Me-Me. They would stop by to say, "Hi!" and get some candy.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Trudy, wife of James Simmons of Ephrata; Vicki Zulick of Plains; and Coleen, wife of Craig Pike of Denver; step daughters: Heidi, wife of Greg Webster of Volentown, Conn.; and Sonya Abbate of Raleigh, N.C.; sisters: Betty Mogel of Sinking Spring; Lorraine Leisey of Ephrata; and Pat Kirta of Delaware; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Adele was preceded in death by her sister Christine Weaver.
A viewing will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in the Mellingers Union Cemetery.
