Charles D. Camp, 70, of Ephrata, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Ephrata Community Hospital.
He was born in Westfield, Mass. to the late Leslie B. and Isabel G. (Knox) Camp and was the loving husband of Marnette J. (Blakley) Camp with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.
Charles was a member of the Ephrata Community Church. Charles served his country in the US Marine Corps where he was a jet engine mechanic. After his service he continued in the private sector as a specialized mechanic for over 40 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, fishing and golfing. Spending time with his family was most important to him. He devoted much of his spare time and retirement to his grandchildren as he made them a priority.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by a daughter: Tammy L., wife of Douglas Groff of Ephrata; a son: Dean R., husband of Mary Camp of Lancaster; a daughter: Tracy A., wife of Jason Bruno of Chester, N.J.; 10 grandchildren: Amber, Zachary, Ashley, Madison, Alyssa, Joshua, Brady, Nicholas, Haley and Dominic; a sister: Lavina Hall; and two brothers: Leslie and Donald Camp.
A viewing will be held June 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Rd., Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by funeral services at the church at 10 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Eshleman officiating. Interment will take place in Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
