Ezra M. Weaver, 73, of Bowmansville, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Born in West Cocalico Township, he was the son of the late Ivan and Amanda (Martin) Weaver. He was married 52 years on March 4 to Edith M. (Martin) Weaver.
Ezra worked most of his life as a brick layer for Weaver's Masonry in Ephrata. More recently he worked in the shoe department at Weaver's Store in Fivepointville.
He was a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five children: Lucille, married to Ray Fox of New Holland; Larry, married to Melissa (Martin) Weaver of Denver; Linda, married to Earl Rissler of California, Mo.; Marlene, married to James Rissler of Mt. Pleasant Mills and Nevin, married to Rachel (Weiler) Weaver of Mohnton; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandsons; four brothers and a sister: Abram, married to Irene (Martin) Weaver of Newville; Ivan, married to Lena Mae (Redcay) Weaver of Newmanstown; Harvey, married to Naomi (Kurtz) Weaver of Bernville; Lavina Weaver of Newmanstown and Clarence, married to Marian (Good) Weaver of Myerstown; and a sister-in-law: Laura (Musser) Weaver of Myerstown.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Samuel and Emmanuel Weaver.
Funeral services were held July 23 at the Martindale Fellowship Center, Ephrata with further services at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church with the Bishop Leon S. Zimmerman officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
