Elizabeth M. "Betty" Lutz, 91, of Denver, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 after a lengthy illness at Fairmount Homes in Ephrata.
Born in Oregon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late J. Reno and Anna N. (Metzler) Weaver. She would have been married 69 years on Aug. 9 to Howard Lutz.
Betty was a homemaker most of her life but earlier she worked for the former Walter W. Moyer Company in Ephrata. She also provided child care for many years for many neighbors and friends.
She was a member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church. She often sang in the choir at Salem Lutheran Church and she enjoyed playing the organ, quilting, along with other needle work, word puzzles, photography, growing flowers, and reading.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children: Dale E., married to Sharon (Wade) Lutz of Harmonyville; Dean L. Lutz of Ephrata and Denise K., married to Barry Buchter at home; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Arlene Houck of Gordonville and Beatrice Yoder of Intercourse; and three brothers: David M. Weaver of Lititz, Paul M. Weaver of Paradise, and Jake M. Weaver of Atglen.
Preceding her in death is a sister: Dorothy "Dot" Wambold; and three brothers: Raymond M., Lloyd M. and Elmer M. Weaver.
Funeral services will be held Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, with the Reverend Robert Kramer officiating. Interment will be in the Center Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m.
