Pauline Bender Stump entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2013 at Maple Farm Nursing Center in Akron.
She was born at home in the community of Oregon, PA. Born in 1926, she was one of 11 children of William and Maggie Bender. Her husband, John H. Stump, Talmage, deceased in 1983.
Pauline enjoyed her active volunteerism with auxiliary to the West Earl Fire Association and over 20 years as a cook for the Lancaster Fireman's Training Association in West Lampeter. Pauline has been a lifetime member of Ebenezer Evangelical Church in Brownstown.
Pauline and John's favorite outdoor activity was boating on the Chesapeake Bay for over 25 years with their many boater friends from Pennsylvania and Maryland. Weekends were spent enjoying the sun and filled with fishing, swimming, water skiing, and lots of shrimp and clam bakes at the dock in Perryville and Havre de Grace, Md.
She is survived by a daughter: Vicky Lane Jenkins, Manheim and two step-daughters: Sandra Agesen, Texas and Linda Montgomery and husband Robert, Delaware; grandchildren: Brian Underhill and wife Melissa, Lititz; Jill Crofoot and husband Luke of Delaware; Michael Montgomery, Md.; Jeffrey Agesen, Texas and Christopher Agesen, Washington; and great-grandchildren: Brianna and Sean Underhill; Taylor Crofoot; Zachary, Lucas and Susan Agesen; and Allen, Christopher and Heather Agesen. Also surviving are two sisters: Mereda Buckwalter, Lancaster, and Arlene Schaal, Leola.
The family wishes to offer a very special thank you to all the staff at Maple Farm for superb care and lots of hugs during her residency. Also a special thank you to Asera-Care Hospice for their outstanding hospice services and care given to Pauline and her family.
A private graveside ceremony will be held.
