Paul K. Graybill, 88, of Ephrata, formerly of Lititz, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, at Fairmount Homes Retirement Community.
He was born in Elverson to the late Ammon S. and Anna (Keener) Graybill and was the husband of the late Grace (Herr) Graybill, whom passed away January of 2012.
Paul was a very active member for many years in the former Hess Mennonite Church, now called Crossroads Community Fellowship, Lititz, where he was a Sunday school teacher. An avid reader, he also enjoyed working in his wood shop and doing and teaching basket weaving. During the 1960s, he and his wife served a missions church in Harrisburg for 10 years called Herr Street Mennonite Church.
In his early years, Paul was a painter, wall paper hanger and an interior and exterior designer. Then owned and operated Fireside Crafts with his late wife for many years until 1985 when he retired.
Paul is survived by two sons: Dayvid, husband of Gwen (Penner) Graybill of Denver; Colo., James "Jim," husband of Beverly (Graybill) Graybill of Elizabethtown; two daughters: Jean, wife of Mark Martin of Sarasota, Fla., Marianne Ferguson, wife of Kenneth Bletz of Wellsboro; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers: John Graybill of Lititz; Ammon Jr., husband of Pat Graybill of Lancaster; and a sister: Mary, wife of Noah Hurst of Ephrata.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Elizabeth Good and Anna Mae Sheaffer.
A viewing will be held Aug. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheatridge Chapel of Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheatridge Dr., Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Crossroads Community Fellowship, 1060 E. Newport Road, Lititz, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kyle D. Buckwalter officiating. Interment will take place in the Hess Mennonite Cemetery.
