Christ S. Haldeman, WWII corporal, High Concrete

Christ S. Haldeman, 93, Denver, died at home Aug. 22, 2013.

Born in Deodate, Dauphin County, he was a son of the late Christian H. and Katie (Scheaffer) Haldeman.

A World War II Army corporal, he served in the Pacific Theatre with the 77th Division. Christ worked for High Concrete, Denver, was a life member of Reinholds VFW and an avid Phillies fan.

Surviving are his companions: Ruth and "Buster;" children: Doris E. (David) Lutz, Reinholds; William C. Haldeman, Reading; Diane E. (George) Dionysious, Ephrata; David P. (Shirley) Haldeman, Denver and Robert L. (Debbie) Haldeman, Adamstown; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Alice Levengood, Schaefferstown; Betty Peiffer, Myerstown; Merle Haldeman, Dubois and George Haldeman, Monaca. He was predeceased by a son: John and siblings: Florence Rittle, Marian Fernsler and Phares and Joseph Haldeman.

Funeral were held Aug. 28 from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown. Burial with military honors was in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Ephrata.
