Elva S. Zeiset, 82, of Ephrata, passed away peacefully at home Friday, April 26, 2013 after a brief illness.
Born in Earl Township, she was the daughter of the late Aaron H. and Edna (Sensenig) Kurtz and the wife of the late David S. Zeiset who passed away on Dec. 9, 2012.
Elva was a homemaker and a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Surviving are five sons: Marvin, husband of Grace (Martin) Zeiset of Manheim; Clair, husband of Sharon (Weaver) Zeiset of Ephrata; Nelson, husband of Rosene (Newswanger) Zeiset of Denver; Eugene, husband of Joy (Weaver) Zeiset of Ephrata; and Jerry, husband of Linette (Horst) Zeiset of Annville; three daughters: Janet, wife of Allen Knarr of Bechtelsville; Marilyn, wife of William Martin, III of New Holland; and Joanne, wife of Nelson Horst of Lincoln University; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three brothers: John Kurtz of Ephrata; Aaron S., husband of Janet (Landis) Kurtz of New Holland; and Willis, husband of Ann (Martin) Kurtz of Ephrata; and three sisters: Jane, wife of Melvin Nolt of Richland; Vera Kurtz of New Holland; and Edna, wife of Glenn Shonk of New Holland.
Preceding her in death is a brother: Norman; a grandson: Nathaniel David Zeiset; and a great-grandson: Isaac Bryce Weaver.
Funeral services were held April 30 at the Martindale Fellowship Center, Ephrata with further services at the Martindale Mennonite Church with the Bishop Amos G. Martin Officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
