S. Pauline "Polly" Spangler, 85, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Denver Health & Rehabilitation Center, Denver.
She was born in Lancaster to the late Chester and Katie (Hackman) Weaver and was the wife of the late David B. Spangler who passed away in 2000.
Polly was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Ephrata, where she was active in the prayer chain. She enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, canning and traveling. During her working years, she was a waitress at the former Sam & Sue's restaurant and the former Akron Restaurant.
She is survived by a son: Bruce, husband of Stephanie D. (Enck) Spangler of Denver; two grandsons: Eric, husband of Lindsey (Fasnacht) Spangler of Reinholds and Ryan Spangler of Akron; five great grandchildren; a brother: Jake, husband of Mary Weaver of Okla.; a sister: Nancy, wife of Harold Bingeman of Ephrata; and companion and friend: Harry Ressler.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: Sam and Luke Weaver.
A viewing was held March 19 at the Stradling Funeral Home. An additional viewing was held on March 20 at the Grace Fellowship Church followed by her funeral services with Pastor Frank Rice officiating. Interment took place in the Middle Creek Cemetery.
