Ralf G. Lohrenz, 56, Navy veteran and woodworker

Ralf G. Lohrenz, 56, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

He was born in Hamburg, Germany, to Ursula (Bernicker) Lohrenz of Lancaster and the late Gunter Lohrenz. Ralf was the husband of Ruth (Rutt) Lohrenz, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage.

Ralf served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a woodworker and cabinet maker. He enjoyed spending time with his family, building things, was very handy and a funny guy.

In addition to his wife and mother, Ralf is survived by two sons: Christopher, husband of Toni Lohrenz of Ephrata; Neil, husband of Missy Stoltzfus of Lancaster; a daughter: Tiffani, wife of Brandon Smith of Terre Hill; seven grandchildren; a sister: Monika Border Lohrenz, companion of Bob Fry of Lancaster.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Nadine Heiss and sister: Gabriella.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
