Sara A. Hall, 92, teacher, golfer, LGH volunteer

Sara A. Hall, 92, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Shenandoah to the late Dr. Leon Tucker and Helen (Price) Wasley and was the wife of the late Thomas W. Hall.

Sara was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. During her working years, she worked as a teacher for the Penn Manor School District and the Hempfield School District. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading. She volunteered at the Lancaster General Hospital. Residents and staff at Ephrata Manor loved Sarah. She loved taking care of the library at the Manor. She also enjoyed traveling with the residents to various places for lunch.

Sara is survived by a son: Thomas, husband of Sherry L. (Schweikert) Hall of Lewes, Del.; two grandchildren: Brian C., husband of Carli Hall of Charlotte, N.C., Jessica M., wife of Matthew G. Stengel of Woodstown, N.J.; and five great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Andrew, Connor, Ava and Lila.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Dr. Malcolm Tucker Wasley and Leon Price Wasley.

A viewing was held July 1 at the Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, followed by her funeral service with Rev. John Light officiating. Interment took place in the Mt. Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Akron.
