Dorothy M. Adams, 69, of Orlando, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Lancaster to the late John and Barbara (Sauder) High and was the wife of Jerry K. Adams.
Dottie was a member of the Center Point Church of the Nazarene, Orlando, Fla., and a former member of the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene. She was a 1962 graduate of Ephrata High School. Before her retirement in 2000, Dottie was an administrative assistant in the human resource department of the former Ford New Holland, currently Case New Holland. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, providing friendship dinners through her church. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: J. Kenneth, husband of Valerie (Pugh) Adams of St. Augustine, Fla.; Thomas M., husband of Tracy (Chapin) Adams of Winter Garden, Fla.; Daniel C., husband of Antonia (Iglopas) Adams of Lititz; five grandchildren: Shea, Reese, Brooks, Emery and Delaney Adams; a brother: John, husband of Martha High of Reamstown; three sisters: Ellen Stone of Aston; Marian, wife of Clarence Risser of Brickerville and Mary Ann Solesky of Lebanon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Chester High and a sister: Alma Brubaker.
A memorial service was held Sept. 9, at 7 p.m., at the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Kenneth Higginbotham officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
