Jean F. Brodt, 67, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at Ephrata Community Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jean was the wife of James W. Brodt and daughter of the late Robert A. Fasnacht and Dorothy C. (Fasnacht) Martin.
Jean was an elementary school teacher and taught secondgrade at Knowlton Township School District in Columbia, N.J. for 35 years.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ephrata and a member of the Woman's Club of Ephrata and the Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley. Jean also loved spending time in Rehoboth Beach, DE with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, James, Jean is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth F. Semonsky, wife of Sean Semonsky of Tucson, AZ; a son, Jeremy F. Brodt, husband of Mali (Lipchik) Brodt of Quincy, MA; four grandchildren, Elliot, Simon, Persephone, and Manon; and a sister, Jo M. (Fasnacht) Snavely, wife of Gary J. Snavely of Ephrata, PA, and niece Rachel E. Snavely.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St. Ephrata, PA and from 9-10 a.m. on Monday, September 9th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 167 E. Main St., Ephrata, PA 17522.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday at Holy Trinity with the Rev. Henry E. Herbener officiating. Place of interment will be Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ephrata.
