Hazel H. Fichthorn, 84, of Denver passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in Ephrata, daughter of Monroe H. and Marie ( Sweigart) Hackman.
She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, where she was a faithful member of the congregation and choir. Hazel shared her love for music by singing at a wide variety of events, including many wedding ceremonies.
Hazel is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Samuel R. Fichthorn of Denver; sons: Eric H., husband of Debbie (Pennebecker) Fichthorn; Ross H., husband of Rose (Schiaroli) Fichthorn of Denver and Kurt H., husband of Tracy (Simandl) Fichthorn of Denver; a daughter: Lise Marie, wife of Scott Lausch of Pine Grove; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister: Joline, wife of Robert Maxfield of Stone Mountain, Ga.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother: Roger Hackman.
A private graveside service was held Nov. 9, 2013 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, with the Rev. William Hoch officiating.
Memorial contributions in Hazel's memory may be made to Ephrata Community Hospital.
