Virginia J. DeVeaux, 86, Woodstream retiree, hiker

Virginia J. DeVeaux, 86, Ephrata, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Ephrata Manor.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Ira W. and Bernetha Shriener Adams and wife of the late Charles Edward DeVeaux, who passed away in October 1982.

Virginia retired from Woodstream Inc., where she was employed as a quality control inspector.

Virginia was an avid hiker, loved to read, enjoyed traveling and bird watching. She took great pride and special delight in spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Surviving are two daughters: Judy Stroman, wife of Robert of Lititz; Cynthia Myers, wife of David of Evans, Ga.; three grandchildren: Nathan DeVeaux, Marissa Myers, and Chelsea Puricelli; and two great-grandsons: Trenton Ortiz and Josiah Hill. Also surviving Virginia are four brothers: Ronald Adams, husband of Delma of Manheim; James Adams, husband of Carolyn, of Manheim; Kenneth Adams, of Reading; Thomas Adams, husband of Kathy, of Lititz; two sisters: Bonita Connelly of Manheim and Sandra Diffenderfer, wife of Larry of Ephrata. A brother: Donald Adams, preceded Virginia in death.

Relatives and friends attended Virginia's life celebration graveside service at Memory Gardens on May 11.
